Low-carbon, battery grade LiOH. Strategic scale. Made in Europe.
Green+ Antwerp is Lithium Ark’s flagship lithium refining project, designed to strengthen Europe’s battery materials supply chain with locally produced, battery-grade lithium hydroxide.
Located in Antwerp, Belgium, Green+ Antwerp will deploy Lithium Ark’s patented Green+ refining technology to convert lithium chloride into battery-grade lithium hydroxide with significantly lower environmental impact and superior economics compared with conventional lithium refining routes.
With a planned capacity of approximately 30,500 tonnes per year of LiOH battery grade, (equivalent to 5,036 tonnes per year of Li metallic) and targeted production start in 2029, Green+ Antwerp is positioned to cover approximately 8.7% of projected EU lithium metallic demand by 2030, addressing a critical gap in Europe’s refining capacity.
By combining smarter chemistry, lower CO2 emissions and water consumption, better economics, and European industrial integration, Green+ Antwerp sets a new benchmark for lithium refining in Europe.
Europe’s energy transition depends on secure access to battery materials. Yet today, only one lithium refinery operates in continental Europe, leaving the region highly dependent on imports for a material that is essential to electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and grid-scale batteries.
Green+ Antwerp directly addresses this challenge by establishing a scalable, low-carbon lithium refining hub within the EU, supporting Europe’s ambitions for industrial resilience, decarbonisation, and supply chain autonomy.
This location enables Green+ Antwerp to operate at the heart of Europe’s battery ecosystem while minimizing logistics costs and emissions.
