Lithium Ark selected for Circular Valley Accelerator

Maastricht, Netherlands, 27 January 2026: Lithium Ark has been selected to participate in the Circular Valley Accelerator, a European platform supporting companies developing innovative circular economy solutions, hosted in Wuppertal, Germany.

The selection recognises the circularity potential of Lithium Ark’s patented lithium refining process, which converts lithium chloride into battery-grade lithium hydroxide through a circular KOH/KCl chemical flow.

The process is designed to reduce the environmental footprint of lithium refining while improving resource and reagent efficiency compared with conventional refining routes.

Lithium Ark will apply the technology at its proposed Antwerp project, a low-carbon lithium refinery project in Belgium, which is designed to refine lithium chloride from diversified sources into battery-grade lithium hydroxide for the European battery materials value chain.

Participation in the Circular Valley Accelerator will provide Lithium Ark with access to industrial networks and circular economy stakeholders as it continues to advance its Antwerp project and develop its broader refining platform.

Peter Ehren, Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer at Lithium Ark, said: “We are delighted to be selected for the Circular Valley Accelerator, which recognises the circularity at the heart of our refining technology. We look forward to working with the Circular Valley network as we develop our Antwerp project and demonstrate how a more circular approach to lithium refining can deliver both environmental and industrial benefits.”

About Lithium Ark

Lithium Ark is a technology company pioneering a patented lithium refining process that produces battery-grade lithium hydroxide directly from lithium chloride, eliminating the need to produce, transport, and reconvert lithium carbonate, while also having the ability to produce battery-grade lithium carbonate as required. Backed by more than 25 years of hands-on lithium expertise and three international patents, the technology reengineers conventional refining to deliver up to 89% lower carbon emissions, 75% less water consumption, and 49% lower energy use than conventional refining, while reducing costs and enabling faster, more scalable deployment.

The company’s first commercial deployment in Antwerp is being developed in the heart of Europe’s leading chemical cluster alongside industry partners. The project will showcase the refining process, support future global deployment and technology licensing, while strengthening Europe’s critical minerals supply chain. It is advancing toward Final Investment Decision as a candidate Strategic Project under the EU Critical Raw Materials Act. Lithium Ark has offices in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Chile.
